For the next 2 weeks we have twins and triplets!! Maddy and Kenna share three weeks of the year at the same number age! McKenna had a fun birthday this year. In the past she has always had her birthday off from school because it is Veterans Day. But for some reason, school was in session this year! She was VIP in school during the week of her birthday so she picked to take Roxy in for show and tell. That was fun for her to show off her dog! We woke up early the morning of her birthday to ensure she would get to open all her gifts before the day began! She absolutely loves POKEMON! She got movies, books, toys, cards, all Pokemon related. Also on her birthday she got a beloved Pokemon shirt, and yep, you guessed it she put it right on!! Not to mention she was adamant about wearing it for her birthday party! Which was devoted to Pokemon. We played Pokemon cakewalk, Pokemon cards, pokeball hot potato, had a pinata and alas watched pokemon movies. It doesn't get any better that for McKenna! I am so thankful to a McKenna in our family! She is such a bright, friendly, creative girl. I just adore her! She was my little baby and she still is! My special green-eyed girl, I love you!
Way to go Madyson and McKenna! Every six months we get to see if all their tooth brushing is paying off! Another appointment was a complete success! Keep those sugar bugs away and mom and dad are two happy campers!
The scarecrow festival at thanksgiving pointe has become a favorite for our family, well two years running now. This year I decided to take JUST the girls for a date! Just the three of us. It was so much fun to spend time with them away from any responsiblities other than just them! We got there early in hopes of short lines and lots of fun. We started out with the trampoline because that line gets long!!! It looked like a short line but we still waited about an hour to get their chance at it! McKenna was a champ at it. She was trying her darndest to flip but just couldn't quite pull herself over. But she loved every second of trying it! Maddy was not as sure it was the best idea to try and flip. She didn't get very high and felt a little uneasy about trusting the bungees that kept her safe. Next they tried out the TOWER OF TERROR! Maddy said the tower was unstable at the top, she was pretty freaked out, and to make things worse I made her wait for McKenna so I could take this picture! What a sport she is all for the sake of memories, nevermind she felt like the tower was moving in the wind! She was a happy camper once she could feel the grass in her toes!! Rock climbing was not as fun as it looked once they got about half way up. They both just wanted off. I can definitely say that heights are not their thing! The balloon guy was great! He made flowers so the girls would have a place for their ladybugs to sleep at night! Off to the races they go! The funny thing is that these carts are actually way slow! Waiting for the train ride! 60 minutes in line = 3 minutes on the train! Not sure what is in kenna's tooth but she was eating a gob of taffy from the train conductor! That's right girls, you go climb a tree and I'll save our spot in line, lucky kids wish I could've climbed the tree too! Don't forget the Pony Rides! This is a must when attending a festival! They love the pony rides, alas another long line for mom to wait in! Well worth it though for these smiling faces! And the games just went on and on and on until finally I was pooped, time to go home girls, until next year!
Halloween was so exhausting this year! I just wasn't that into it, which made dressing up all the more difficult to do. I guess it didn't help that the week of and the week after our family went through a nasty sickness, glad that it is all over! The babies went as pumpkins this year and the BIG girls as witches! All costumes were purchased last year after the halloween festivities for under 10 bucks total! The babies outfits were a little small, because last year I was certain my babies would be small because they would be playing catch up, being preemies, but that is not the case at all! OH well, we squeezed them in and pumpkins they became!! Note to self: don't ever buy wigs for you kids, they will hate them and to my dismay, take them off! The girls would not keep there wigs on this year. I do not blame them, they are itchy to say the least, but I wanted them on for the full effect. At least we got a few pictures while still on there heads! No makeup for them on this, the third time dressing up for festistivites due to makeup in their eyes. We missed taking pictures of Dom and I dressed up, oh yes we did! My friend had a halloween party and Dom went as a man who was knocked up with triplets and I went as a jailbird with a wig, I know, I know, hold your applause, we are just too creative. Like I said, I was too exhausted to put much thought into our own costumes! We did manage to get some cute pics of the kids though! We did the pumpkin carving on Halloween day this year! Maddy was feverish on Halloween day so she picked her pumpkin design and I carved it out for her. Poor Maddy Patty, better luck next year! Last year I also purchased these super cheap onsies for the babies "This IS my costumes" so I had to try them out, love these babies! So I know that I sound like a grumpy old scrooge but I promise it was just a phase! I am so merry about Christmas this year! It will be good memories in the comfort of home vs. the hospital, as it was last year!! I can't even describe how excited I am for christmas, It's going to be a good one!
